20 new immigration officers to graduate Thursday

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) says that 20 new immigration officers will be added to the corps at the island's air and seaports after graduating on Thursday, December 6.

According to PICA, the graduation of the officers is timed just prior to the start of the upcoming Winter Tourist Season on December 15.

PICA said that aspects of the training include tutorship in: The Aliens Act; Citizenship Services - Nationality Act; Deportation; Health Risks in Border Management/ Quarantine and Public Health; Human Trafficking/ Transnational Crimes & Terrorism; Introduction to fraudulent Documents; Introduction to Jamaica's Border Management System; the Passport Act and the Role and Function of the Immigration Officer.
