36-y-o St Catherine man convicted for cocaine

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A 36-year-old man, Michael Abrahams of Caribbean Estate, was yesterday convicted in the St Catherine Parish Court after he pleaded guilty to possession of and dealing in cocaine.

Reports are that on Friday, July 7, 2017 lawmen conducted special anti-narcotics operations between the hours of 4:00 pm and 11:00 pm in Caribbean Estate. During the operations a search yielded the seizure of three large travelling bags and a suitcase with 70 rectangular parcels containing cocaine weighing 77.5 kilograms valued at US$ 307,000. Approximately US$1,400 and J$40, 000 in cash was also seized, the police report.

Abrahams will be sentenced in the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday, December 22.
