The teams to the inaugural Athletics World Cup, the World Under-20 Championships, CAC Games, NACAC Senior Championships and Youth Olympics will be all be chosen from the JAAA Supreme Ventures National Senior and Junior Championships which get underway, this Thursday, at the National Stadium.
Olympic champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson who are both listed for the women’s 100m, headline the list of top athletes down to compete at the championships from June 21- 24, at the National Stadium.
Meanwhile, president of the JAAA Dr Warren Blake earlier this year told RJR Sports that the National Senior Championships would be used specifically to select a team for the inaugural Athletics World Cup from July 14-15 in London.
In the meantime, the World Under-20 Championships will be held in Finland from July 10-15 while the Youth Olympic Games will be staged in Argentina from October 11-17. Coverage of the JAAA Supreme Ventures National Senior and Junior Championships will be on TVJ, TVJ SN and Hitz 92 FM.
