Fifty-nine year old James Dunkley, a farmer of Slipe district, St Elizabeth, is scheduled to appear in the St Elizabeth Parish Court today to answer to charges of illegal possession of ganja.
Dunkley was charged for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, following the seizure of a quantity of ganja on a boat on the Gayle River in St Elizabeth on Sunday.
Reports are that at about 10:45 p.m., police officers assigned to the Marine Division were on patrol along the river when the boat with Dunkley aboard was searched. Ganja weighing approximately 159 pounds was found under a tarpaulin. Dunkley was subsequently arrested and charged and the boat seized.
