Captain Stafanie Taylor says she is hoping home advantage will continue to play in her team's favour as Jamaica's women aim to capture the Cricket West Indies regional T20 title. Jamaica's women started on a winning note as they secured an 8 wicket win over Guyana on Sunday in a day/night affair at Sabina Park.

The visitors who batted first, were restricted to 75-8 from their 20 overs, as Roshana Outar was the pick of the Jamaican bowlers with 3-12 while Taylor bagged 2-11. Jamaica then strolled to 76-2 off just 16.2 overs with Taylor and Natasha McLean making 16 to support Jodiann Morgan's top score of 19.

Earlier, defending champions Trinidad and Tobago also made a winning start after a comprehensive 68 run win over the Leeward Islands in the first match of the double-header at Sabina Park. The twin island republic first posted 132-8 with Stacian King scoring 38 not out while Reniece Boyce got 25. In response, the Leewards could only muster 64-5 from their 20 overs as King returned to pick up 2-13.
