Katchafire lights up Billboard

Katchafire, the five-member New Zealand roots-reggae band, earned its fourth title on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart with Legacy.

The 12-track set was released on June 1 by Universal New Zealand, and enterned the chart at number three with first-week sales of 515 copies.

Katchafire, which formed in 2000 as a Bob Marley tribute band, previously charted with 2007's Say What You're Thinking (number six); 2011's On the Road Again (number three); and 2013's Best So Far (number four).

Legacy features the song Walk With Me with Jamaican drum-and-bass duo Notis Heavyweight Rockaz.

The Giver by tenor saxophonist David Hillyard & The Rocksteady 7 debuts at number six with 161 copies sold. The 11-track set was released June 1 on ORG Music.

Holding the number one spot for a sixth week is 44/876, the collaborative album by Sting & Shaggy. It sold an additional 1,854 copies, which is a significant drop from the 5,031 copies the week before. To date, it has sold 31,239 copies in the United States.

Iration's self-titled set is firm at number two with 902 copies sold, an increase over the 593 it registered the previous week. Its current sales stands at 4,915 copies.

Former chart-topper Rebellion Rises by Ziggy Marley is firm at number four. It sold an additional 423 copies, a drop from the 549 copies it sold the previous week. Its figures after three weeks stands at 5,282.

Back in the chart at number five is Box Full of Steel by The Dubplates, which sold 280 copies for a total of 2,864.

Moving up two spots to number seven is Damian Marley's Stony Hill which moved 121 copies, a slight increase over the 91 copies it sold the previous week. To date it has sold 20,670 copies.

VP Records' Soca Gold 2018 falls to number eight with 118 copies, while Kontraband by Kabaka Pyramid tumbles from three to nine with 108 copies. In its opening week it sold 551 copies to bring its total sales to 659 copies.

Rounding out the Top 10 is Chronology by Chronixx, which moves up from number 13 with 68 additional copies sold.
