Rasta Camp recording artiste Third Gear, shares lens time with a participant from his 'African Queen' video.
Rasta Camp recording artiste Third Gear latest single African Queen, will be released within another week. The video is set for a September 20 local and international debut, according to Rasta Camp's creative director Donovan Campbell.
"African Queen is a lovers' rock reggae tune produced on Rasta Camp's Heights of Love rhythm, while the video, which was screened exclusively for The Star, was shot by award-winning movie director Karret Barclay at the picturesque Cranbrook Estate in St Ann, Jamaica," Campbell revealed.
The creative director said African Queen will be followed up by multiple singles releases from Third Gear. These include Legalise It, Leave Them to Time, Give The Youth A Try and Di System.
Campbell said negotiations are well advanced for a collaboration with well known lovers' rock crooner Benji Myaz, and the Four Paths, Clarendon-based music production company is looking at a Valentine's Day release for that single.
Campbell said lovers' rock has always been an appealing sub-genre of reggae music, but has experienced a downturn in quality and quantity; however, the genre is making a strong comeback locally with household names like Prote´ge´ and Chronixx.
He said Rasta Camp's mantras of 'Message in the music' fits that particular musical genre acutely and the neo-Rastafarian music production company definitely doesn't want to miss the wagon.
