Arnett Gardens held, miss chance to top of RSPL

Former champions Arnett Gardens missed a glorious chance to take over sole leadership of top spot on the Red Stripe Premier League table.

The Junglists twice took the lead but failed to hold on and ended up playing to a 2-2 draw with Rivoli United at Stadium East in the monday night featured game on match day two.

They went ahead in the 21st minute courtesy of own goal but saw Daniel Roberts scoring in the 28th minute to pull Rivoli level.

Steve Clarke then restored Arnett’s lead in first half stoppage time before Cory Burke pulled Rivoli level for a second time in the 74th minute.

The Jerome Waite coached team with the result moved to 4 points, the same as Reno and Cavalier who posted wins over Humble Lion and Cavalier on Sunday.

Oshane Jenkins was on target in the 30th minute for Cavalier who in their 1-0 win over Sporting Central while Afiba Chambers and Greg Foster, who scored twice, piloted Reno to a come from behind win over Humble Lion at Frome.

Also on Sunday, newly promoted Barbican secured their first point of the season after playing to a 1-1 draw with Boys Town at Collie Smith Drive while it was goalless between Tivoli Gardens and Harbour View.
