Up to late last night police were still seeking the public's assistance in locating a prisoner who escaped from the Montego Bay Police lock-up in St James on Saturday.

The escapee, 21-year-old Fahdean Ferguson, otherwise called 'Tussain and Joshua', a mechanic of Hampton, Spring Mount, in the parish, had been in custody since Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Police said he is of dark complexion, medium build and is about 173 centimetres (5 feet 8 inches) tall. He also has tear drops tattooed below his right eye and scars over both eyes.

Information reaching THE STAR is that about 8:45 p.m., Ferguson, who was held on charges for housebreaking and burglary, was transported from the Barnett Street Police Station to participate in a video identification parade.

The police said he was waiting in the holding area, to be transported back to that facility when he allegedly escaped through an unlocked window. He was last seen wearing a white merino and a pair of pink shorts.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Fahdean Ferguson is asked to contact the Montego Bay police at 953-6191 or 684-9080-5, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

The public is being reminded that harbouring fugitives is a crime and anyone found guilty of such an act will face the full extent of the law.
