Jamaica's Kemahl 'The Hitman' Russell defended his NABF junior middleweight title in ecstatic fashion on Friday night, defeating Mexican Michi Munoz in a second round technical knockout at the National Arena.
‘The Hitman’ didn't take long to find his range as after using the first round to feel out his opponent, he went on the attack early in the second and produced a flurry of punches to leave Munoz on the canvas.
Munoz returned to his feet briefly but Russell unleashed another combo that floored him once again and forced the referee to wave off the fight 2 minutes and 5 seconds into the second round.
The win means Russell's ring record now moves to 13 and one with 11 knockouts while the veteran Munoz sees his record falling to 26 and 8 with 18 knockouts.
Two-time Contender Series champion Sakima 'Mr Smooth' Mullings also landed a victory in the undercard, defeating Edmund Declou of Guyana with a 6th round knockout.
