Jamaica College, Wolmers, St. Georges & Kingston College maintain unbeaten runs in Manning Cup

Title holders Jamaica College maintained their unbeaten run after spanking Norman Manley 3-0 in the top of the table Group G clash in the ISSA/Lime Manning Cup.

Ronaldo Brown, captain Junior Flemmings and Sheldon McCoy were all on the target for the Dark Blues, who have a 100 percent win record after three games. Elsewhere in Group G, Kingston Technical secured their first point of the season after holding Jonathan Grant to a 2-2 draw.

In Group A, former champions St. Georges College whipped Jose Marti 4-0, and Kingston College secured their third win in as many games after clipping Waterford 1-0. Both North Street rivals following Monday’s results are locked on 9 points, but STGC lead by virtue of a superior goal difference.

In Group D, Camperdown moved to 9 points to assume sole leadership after carving out a 2-1 win in their top of the table tussle with previously unbeaten Haile Selassie. Both teams are now tied on 9 points with the Christopher Bender coached Camperdown holding the advantage with a game in hand.

Elsewhere Former champions Bridgeport maintained their hopes of advancing to the second round after posting a 2-1 win over Papine. Victory saw them moving to 3rd with 6 points from 4 games. Greater Portmore are 4th on 4 points following a scoreless draw with 1998 winners Dunoon Technical.

In Group E back to back Walker Cup holders Wolmers, yet to taste defeat, turned back Holy Trinity 1-0 at the Bell Chung Oval to move 3 points clear of their vanquished opponents, while Spanish Town suffered their third loss of the season after going down 1-0 to Clan Carthy at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.

The league continues on Tuesday with 8 games, with the feature game being the clash between two unbeaten teams Calabar and Hydel in Group F, elsewhere in the group, the St. Jago host St. Catherine, and Penwood entertain Eltham.

Excelsior who are second on 4 points can move within 2 points of Group B leaders Charlie Smith providing they beat Mona who have a solitary point. Cumberland and Vauxhall will meet in the group’s other game with both teams having just a point so far from 2 games..

Over in Group C, St. Mary's College face Tivoli Gardens, Ardenne play away to Innswood while Edith Dalton James are home to Denham Town.
