A man who claimed he was instructed by a Jamaica Defence Force soldier to remove parts from a vehicle is to return to court on March 12.
On Friday when Gary Francis appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, he told the court that he was instructed by a sergeant to remove an axle from a Land Rover vehicle that was parked at Up Park Camp.
“I work with the engineer regiment for 15 years. A sergeant told me to pull it out. Anything him tell mi to do, mi do. I took it out and put it in a container,” Francis told the court.
The court was told that a soldier who was in charge heard knocking sounds approximately 5:00 am and made checks.
The prosecutor told the court that Francis was seen under the vehicle removing the parts.
Subsequently, Francis said: “I was going to take it out. I started to pull it.”
