Netball Jamaica is fending off criticisms that personal feelings entered the selection room and is insisting that the best team has been named for the upcoming quad series and the Commonwealth Games. The governing body has faced criticisms from at least two players following their non-selection to the team to head to New Zealand next month and April's Commonwealth Games in Australia’s Gold Coast.
Former captain Nicole Aiken-Pinnock and Vannessa Walker have expressed their surprise and disappointment in the media, claiming their non-selection was not based on performance.
“We don’t discard people; it’s just that we have to consider what our goals are; our goal is to maintain netball at the highest level and select the best team for a competition. At this point in time, twelve have been selected, noted Johnson-Haughton.
