Partriarch stays on course for 2 Year Old 'Triple Crown'

The Anthony ‘Baba’ Nunes-trained Patriarch remains on course for the ‘Triple Crown’ in the Supreme Ventures 2 Year Old Series after easily winning the second leg, the 11th running of the Pick 3 Super Challenge Trophy over seven furlongs at Caymanas Park on Saturday.

Patriach with jockey Dick Cardenas aboard, came home ahead of Commander Two, Brandy and Honey Ryda, winning by six lengths in 1:25.3. The victory closed out a double for Cardenas and Nunes on the 11-race programme.

The third and final leg of the SVL 2 Year Old Series, the Jamaica 2 Year Old Stakes, will be contested over a mile on Boxing Day, December 26.

Racing continues next Saturday with the feature being the third running of the ultra-rich Diamond Mile, which carries a total purse of US $115,000 or just over JA $14.5 million.
