Pleasing inauguration of St Bess Homecoming Agrifest

Black River , St Elizabeth — Those who visited the St Bess Homecoming Agrifest 2018 at Independence Park in this coastal town on November 23 left with a smile.

Farm produce of all sorts regularly associated with St Elizabeth were on display at the inaugural agricultural festival which was organised by the St Elizabeth Homecoming Foundation Ltd and supported by a range of public sector agencies, private sector groups, local schools and the 4-H movement.

Government Minister JC Hutchinson commended the St Elizabeth Homecoming Foundation for organising the agrifest.

“It's a good beginning,” Hutchinson said, “We urge you to continue to create and build strategic alliances with all stakeholders.”

Patrick Dallas, interim chairman of the St Elizabeth Homecoming Foundation, told his audience at Independence Park that the organisation was “determined to keep the agrifest going”.

The homecoming foundation, which was celebrating its 25th anniversary, held a number of activities in St Elizabeth including a Thanksgiving church service at the Black River New testament Church on November 18 and an awards banquet at the Luana Banquet Hall (at Luana near Black River) on November 24.
