The Clarendon police are reporting that two men have been charged in connection with the death of 13-year-old Kemaro Myles of Kitson Town, St Catherine, who was shot dead on the Milk River main road in Clarendon on Wednesday, August 30.
They are 21-year-old Trevor Wright, otherwise called 'Biggs', a truck driver of Sunset Drive in Knockpatrick, Manchester, and 28-year-old Oshane Thompson, otherwise called 'Tammo', of Asia, also in Manchester.
They have been jointly charged with manslaughter and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. A court date will be announced later.
According to the superintendent in charge of the Clarendon Division, David White, after initially being told that the teen was pounced upon and shot by a gunman, the team of detectives from the Clarendon Criminal Investigations Branch and the Area Three Major Investigations Division commenced a probe that quickly unearthed inconsistencies in the report.
As a result, an operation was carried out in Milk River, Clarendon, on Saturday. Two firearms and 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition were seized and Thompson was arrested.
Wright was subsequently arrested and after being interviewed, both men were charged.
