JAMAICANS in Caribbean islands ravaged by the recent passage of Hurricane Irma have started to return home, the Government announced yesterday.

According to the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management, the Government formulated plans to assist Jamaicans wishing to leave the British Virgin Islands after life on the islands came to an almost standstill after Hurricane Irma made a deadly trek across that section of the Caribbean.

Two flights were scheduled to arrive at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston last night — one from Antigua and the other from Santa Domingo, where Jamaicans were flown to get a connection to Kingston.
