Three Clarendon schools in mourning

Three schools are in mourning today, following the killing of three children in Hayes, Clarendon last night. A fourth person was also shot dead in the incident.

The shooting occurred shortly after 9 o'clock on Shrimp Street in the Monymusk Housing Scheme.

The victims have been identified as 14-year-old Ricardo Brisco, otherwise called ‘Phillip’, of Lagoon Way, a student of Garvey Maceo High School, 14-year-old Vere Technical High School student, Raymond Givans, otherwise called ‘Ray-Jay’, of Lobster Way and 15-year-old Alex Turner of Cotton Tree Gully, a student of Central High School.

Also killed was 35-year-old Marquis Hamilton, an accounting clerk employed to the Monymusk sugar factory.

According to the police, the three boys were walking along Shrimp Street when they were pounced upon by two armed men, who forced them onto Mr. Hamilton’s property.

The men then began making demands, and when their demands were not met, they opened fire hitting all four persons.
