Portland partygoers left it until late to flock Cristal nightclub in Port Antonio to see dancehall hotshot Tommy Lee.
One female patron told The STAR that her experience with other stage shows she has attended is to arrive late for the headliner.
"It never makes sense to get to a show with a deejay like Tommy Lee early," she said.
Tommy Lee was the featured act for the first in the series of Magnum Star Live.
"It doesn't usually happen because the energy in Portland is normally on the relaxed side of things," she said.
The air is slightly chilly and the Port Antonio breeze did little to dampen the spirit of party faithfuls who turned up to catch Tommy Lee in flight.
But before he touched the stage, Portland-born selector Ricky Trooper kept patrons dancing with his expert juggling.
And by the time the Sparta boss took the stage the crowd was sufficiently warmed. The hardcore artiste had them raving to his many hits, leaving no doubt that he left a strong impression on the crowd.
Organised by The STAR and sponsored by Magnum, the series is designed to take top-class entertainment to popular spots in communities across the island.
