Tropical House heats up Billboard chart

WITH 15 songs by some of reggae's biggest names, the compilation album Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica, takes over the number one spot on the Billboard Reggae Album chart this week.

Released in January by Contractor Music Group/Amada Records, the set has so far sold 1,100 copies.

Among its tracks are Paradise by Safaree (featuring Sean Kingston); Regular Thing by Sean Paul; Ease by Cookie the Herbalist and Lee “Scratch” Perry; Good Life by Rollie Fresh and Chronixx; Rise Up by Sizzla and Tony D; Real Life by Ed Sheeran; and Chances by Sean Kingston and Vybz Kartel.

The Studio One release, The #1 Sound: From the Vaults Vol 1, re-enters the chart at number nine. It contains songs by Glen and Dave, Clive Alphonso, Johnny Osbourne, The Officials, Ken Boothe, The Gaylads and Alton Ellis.

Damian Marley's Grammy-winning Stony Hill holds firm at number two with 17,800 copies sold to date, while Marching Orders, a former chart-topper by The Green, rebounds to number three with over 1,000 copies moved to date.

Last week's number one, Vessel of Love by Hollie Cook, slips to four with just over 600 copies sold to date. At five is the EP Sister Caro by Henricci, which moves up two places.

Falling from number three to six is Nigerian dancehall artiste Burner Boy with Outside, while Chronology by Chronixx is up one spot to seven. To date, Chronology has sold 6,600 copies.

Poetry in Motion by SOJA moves up to number eight, while Roots Party, a former number one for Tribal Seeds, is at 10.
