Fresh from winning the World Reggae Dance Championships 2017, the Xqlusiv dance crew are representing Jamaica in an upcoming music video for the groundbreaking 'Havana Meets Kingston' Project, led by Australian music producer Mista Savona.
The music video is for a track called El Cuarto De Tula (Tula's Bedroom), a creative reworking of a traditional Cuban song. It features Cuban musicians Maikel Ante and El Medico, as well as Jamaican reggae artiste Turbulence.
The Jamaican footage for the music video was filmed by Marcus Bird in Yallahs, St Thomas, with Xqlusiv proudly representing Jamaica in a dance-off with professional Cuban dancers, filmed concurrently in Santiago, Cuba.
The shoot was organised by producer and creative director Sedon Coke (Zidan Xqlusiv), who is also the crew leader of Xqlusiv.
Earlier this year, Xqlusiv were also featured in the official music video for the track No Surrender by Australian producer Monkey Marc (co-produced by Mista Savona).
The dance-focused video showcased Jamaican dancehall dance and had a huge response worldwide with four million views across multiple platforms, demonstrating a global interest in Jamaican culture.
