Jamaica's Under 21 Sunshine Girls will play off with South Africa for 5th place at the Netball Youth World Cup following their 58-45 victory over Scotland on Friday in Botswana. The girls controlled the game from the get go as they ended the first quarter 17-11 and closed the first half 33-19. Scotland staged a mini fight back as they cut the lead to 7 in the 3rd quarter which ended 41-34.
However, the young Sunshine Girls held on and outscored the Scots in the 4th quarter 17-11. The Janet Guy-coached team will next meet the South Africans on Sunday. South Africa defeated Uganda 59-35 in their playoff match.
Meanwhile, New Zealand booked their place in the final with a 79-28 win over Fiji. They will meet either Australia or England who will contest one semi-final.
